Project Warm Embrace Sit & Sew w/Renee 10am - 5pm MARCH 15
Mar 15, 2019
|Details:||Project Warm Embrace is an initiative where the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) partners with community quilters to provide quilts for children in foster care. When children come into their care, it is a time of insecurity and instability. Since children arrive with very few possessions, providing a keepsake quilt during this traumatic time sends an encouraging message letting the children know they are special and we care. Please consider donating a child-safe quilt for children ages birth to 18 years, to be distributed during the 2018 Christmas season.
You can also drop off your donation at any DCF Service Center, in: Atchison, Leavenworth, Lawrence, Kansas City and Overland Park.
Quilts should measure at least 45" x 60", made from cotton, denim or fleece, tied, hand or machine quilted, do not embellish as this may not be child safe, do not puff paints. Fabric bags to hold the child's personal belongings are also welcome.
Sit and Sew with Renee from 10am - 5pm and help make quilts for this noble cause.
